Tourist attractions in Virginia
Virginia has a unique feature having eight presidential homes. This state has the largest number of battlefields of civil war than any other state in the country. The state is blessed with mountains that offer scenic beauty to the visitors and also provides opportunities for cycling, snowboarding, skiing and other entertaining factors. Alexandria Black History Resource Center
This resource centre and the black history museum portray the history of the state and depict the life of African Americans. The museum displays art, religious articles, photographs etc. The resource center also has African American Heritage Park.
Other museums
The state has Collingwood library and museum dedicated to Americanism. Other museum called as Fort Ward Museum is situated in Alexandria. This museum has collections describing about life during the civil war. Alexandria also has Friendship Firehouse Museum that has many collection of articles used during the civil war.
Courthouse
The courthouse is a historical architectural landmark of Virginia. Built in the year 1771, the Williamsburg courthouse is the first of its kind in the area known for historical events. The excellent architectural beauty of the building attracts the visitors. It was from this courthouse the historical independence declaration was read out.
Colonial Williamsburg
This historic area is an exciting place to be in. The town of colonial Williamsburg in Virginia was founded in the year 1633. The town has 50 reconstructed buildings and 88 restored ones of the 18th century. The place portrays the beauty of old times and acts as a living museum of Virginia. Some of the notable buildings here are the Governor’s palace and the Capitol etc.
Wren Building
The wren building is another great example for the architectural beauty of the state. This building is situated in Colonial Williamsburg. This is said to be the oldest serving educational monument of U.S. The building was actually constructed in the year 1695 and burnt down many times. The structure that is existing now was constructed in the year 1732.
George Washington Masonic National Memorial
This memorial was built in memory of George Washington. The memorial was completed in 1932 and it displays the faith of Masonic Fraternity. The interesting fact is that this memorial was built purely from the voluntary contributions of the members of Masonic Fraternity.

This unique museum is totally dedicated to sewing. The museum has collections of about 150 sewing machines for display. It has collections of some of the old models of sewing machines and the oldest among them is the Wheller and Wilson which are the machines of 1853. Apart from the machines the museum has also the collections about sewing and the tools used for sewing purpose.
The French Legation Museum
This site was actually constructed for the chargé d’affaires in the year 1841. So it served its purpose for the representatives of the French government in the Texas republic. Later in the year 1848 the place turned out to be the living place of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Robertson.

This museum depicts about the printing history and thus named so.
