San Francisco is the fourth largest in California in terms of population and the twelfth largest state in the U.S. It is one of the most popular tourist attraction sites in the United States and is particularly famous for some wonderful beaches.

San Francisco is famous for the cold summer fog, the sharp rolling hills, the diverse combination of the Victorian and the modern architecture along with its well-known landmarks, which includes the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, and the cable cars.

The historic centre of San Francisco is the north eastern square of the city, which is surrounded by the Market Street towards the south. The Financial District is the centre of attraction at this place, with the Union Square, the major shopping and lodging district which is close by. The adventurous cable car carries the tourists up the steep slants and to the peak of Nob Hill. Then you can move down to the Fisherman’s Wharf, which features the Dungeness crab that is an active fishing centre even now.

The Ocean beach stretches all along the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean and is filled with surfers, but a few of the tourists swim there since the waters over the coast are continuingly cold and build up perilous rip currents. The Baker beach is found along a cove just within the Golden Gate and is beside the Presidio, which was a military base. The Crissy field, surrounded by the Presidio, is restored in its innate salt marsh environment. All these areas combine together with the Alcatraz, Fort Funston, and the Lands End to form a section of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The provincial compilation of beaches, historic sites, and parks are managed by the National Park Service.

Even though the central commercial and shopping arcades of the Financial District along with the area surrounding the Union Square are renowned throughout the world, San Francisco also has culturally prosperous streetscapes that feature the mixed use locality secured around the fundamental commercial strips along which both the residents and the visitors can walk. These special characteristics rated San Francisco as the most walkable city in the U.S.

The Museum of Modern Arts holds works of art dating back from the early 20th century. The de Young’s compilation displays some American attractive pieces and anthropological articles from Oceania, Africa and America. Before the construction of the present copper covered structure, which was completed in the year 2005, the de Young also holds the Museum of Asian Arts which has artefacts from Asia of over 6000 years.

So, San Francisco is a place which has so many attraction centres that your days will truly be memorable if you plan to have a visit there. Do not forget to visit the above-mentioned places during your visit to San Francisco and enjoy the beauty of all these places.
