It has collections of some of the old models of sewing machines and the oldest among them is the Wheller and Wilson which are the machines of 1853. The French Legation Museum
This site was actually constructed for the chargé d’affaires in the year 1841. So it served its purpose for the representatives of the French government in the Texas republic. Later in the year 1848 the place turned out to be the living place of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Robertson.
